How the dental advice on this site is written, where the facts come from, and who checks them.

1. What we publish, and why

We publish plain-English answers to the dental questions people in Kota Kinabalu actually ask — what something costs, what happens at an appointment, what a symptom might mean, and what to do about it. The aim is that someone can get a useful answer without having to book anything first.

It is general information. It is not a diagnosis and it is not a treatment plan for you specifically — see our terms of use for the full disclaimer.

2. Who writes them

Our articles are drafted by the team that looks after this website, working from the clinic's own material and from published sources. We use AI tools as part of that drafting process, in the same way a writer uses research and editing software. Nothing is published straight from a machine: every article is edited by a person, every checkable fact in it is verified against a source before it goes up, and a dentist reads it afterwards as described below.

We say this plainly because you are reading health information and you are entitled to know how it was made.

3. Where the facts come from

Where an article states something checkable — a price set by a government department, a procedure, a rule, a date — it is checked against the original source, and the article names that source and the date we checked it. Charges and regulations change, so a fact that was right when we published it may not be right today. That is why we date them rather than leaving them to age quietly.

Clinical information reflects ordinary dental practice. Where practice genuinely varies, we say so rather than pretending there is one answer.

4. How our dentists review them

An article is published first and reviewed by a dentist afterwards. We think it is better to be straightforward about that than to imply every page has been signed off the moment it appears.

What that means in practice:

  • An article that has been read and approved by one of our dentists carries a line at the top naming that dentist and the date they reviewed it.
  • An article with no such line has not yet been reviewed. There is no default wording and no generic "reviewed by our team" — if the line is absent, take it as absent.
  • Our dentists work through the articles alongside seeing patients, so reviews arrive over time rather than all at once.
  • If a review turns up something wrong, the article is corrected before the review line goes on it, not after.

5. Corrections

If you find something on this site that is wrong, out of date, or unclear, please tell us — message the clinic on WhatsApp at 013-856 4211. We would much rather fix it than leave it up. Where we correct something material, we update the article and its review date rather than editing it silently.

6. Prices on this site

Any price we publish is indicative and subject to examination, because the treatment you need may not be the treatment you expected. Where we quote someone else's charges — a government fee schedule, for example — we cite where it came from and when we checked it.

7. What we will not do

  • Promise a result. No dental treatment can be guaranteed in advance.
  • Compare ourselves to another named clinic.
  • Publish a patient's photograph, details or story without their consent.
  • Put a dentist's name on an article they have not read.
