Endodontic Internal Bleaching, Kota Kinabalu

What to Expect During An Endodontic Internal Bleaching Treatment

What is internal bleaching?

Internal bleaching is the process of using bleach to whiten teeth from the inside. This is done by accessing the tooth through an opening in the gum and applying bleach directly to the discoloured areas within the tooth.

Internal bleaching is usually done after a root canal treatment or other endodontic treatment, as these can darken teeth. It is also sometimes used to whiten teeth that have been discoloured by certain medications.

External bleaching, or tooth whitening, is another option for whitening teeth. This involves using a bleaching agent on the outside of the teeth to remove stains and discolouration.

Can a regular whitening treatment remove deep stains?

A regular whitening treatment can remove deep stains.

Whitening agents bleach the tooth’s enamel and discolour the tooth. Internal bleaching uses techniques and whitening agents that are specifically applied to the inside of the tooth to remove deep stains and discolouration.

What’s the process for internal bleaching?

The process of internal bleaching is a bleaching procedure used to treat discolouration of teeth from the inside of the tooth.

A bleaching agent is placed inside the tooth and a rubber dam is placed over the tooth to keep the agent in place. The agent is left in place for a period of time before being removed.

What is the Difference between Traditional Teeth Whitening and Internal Bleaching Treatment?

The main difference between teeth whitening and internal bleaching is that external bleaching is done by a dentist in their office, whereas the internal bleaching process can be done at home by the patient.

Tooth whitening treatments typically use bleach to help remove stains and discolouration from teeth, while internal bleaching is used to help lighten the colour of teeth that have been affected by a root canal.

How long does it take to see the results of internal bleaching?

It typically takes two to four weeks to see the results of internal bleaching.

During this time, the bleach will work to break down the stain and lighten the tooth.

Internal bleaching is a great option for those who have severe staining that has not responded to other whitening methods.

Will internal bleaching weaken the tooth?

Internal bleaching can weaken the tooth if the bleach is not used correctly. Too much bleach can damage the tooth enamel and make the tooth more susceptible to decay.

What Causes Single Tooth Discoloration?

There are many possible causes of single tooth discolouration.

A common cause is a stain on the tooth. This can happen if you eat or drink something that leaves a mark on your teeth.

Another cause of tooth discolouration is a root canal. This is when the blood vessels and nerves inside the tooth become damaged. This can make the tooth appear yellow or brown.

Tooth whitening can also cause tooth discolouration. This is because the chemicals in the whitening products can penetrate the tooth and change its colour.

If you have a dental infection, the tooth may also become discoloured. This is because the infection can cause the blood vessels in the tooth to become inflamed.
