What sets your interval is how fast you build calculus, whether your gums already show inflammation, whether you smoke, and whether you have a condition like diabetes or are pregnant. It is a clinical judgement about your mouth, not a calendar habit.

Bleeding gums are inflammation, almost always from plaque sitting undisturbed at the gumline. Healthy gums do not bleed when brushed properly.
